Nuclear Early Warning System, UAE

The General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, in consideration of the threat potential emanating from civilian nuclear power plants as well as from military nuclear installations and missile carrier systems, decided to establish a nuclear early warning system. The system was to provide measurement capabilities of alpha, beta and gamma radiation as well as spectrum analysis capabilities. Measuring stations are spread over the entire UAE territory with special emphasis on borders and islands. The data from the measuring sites is transmitted via a TETRA system to the operation centre and the backup centre. The centre provides an appropriate evaluation of the radiation situation and assistance in the planning of counter action.

Our Team was engaged in the threat analysis, surveys, planning as well as in the elaboration of tender documents.
